Essential member authentication

The members-only area uses Netlify Identity and related authentication technology. When you sign in, essential cookies or browser storage may be used to maintain an authenticated session, refresh access, protect the account, and log you out. Disabling these technologies may prevent member login or portal access.

Session storage and functional preferences

The site uses session storage for limited functions such as remembering that you dismissed a temporary welcome message, preserving recent Ask JOAT conversation history during the browser session, restoring your scroll position after internal navigation, and displaying short account or authentication messages. Session storage is generally cleared when the browser session ends, although browser behavior can vary.

Local storage

The identity provider may use local storage to maintain account and authentication details. This is used for account functionality rather than advertising.

Hosting and security logs

Netlify and other infrastructure providers may process Internet Protocol addresses, browser and device information, timestamps, requested pages, error information, and security logs to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the site.

External resources and links

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and links to external services such as social platforms, scheduling tools, affiliate retailers, and other websites. Those services may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies when you visit or interact with them.

No advertising or analytics cookies currently set by JOAT

Because the site currently relies on essential and limited functional technologies, it does not display a general “Accept All Cookies” banner. If JOAT later adds nonessential analytics or advertising technologies, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated before those tools are used where consent is required.

Your controls

You can use browser settings to block, delete, or limit cookies and browser storage. Private-browsing modes and privacy extensions may also restrict these technologies. Blocking essential authentication or functional storage may cause login, portal, chat-history, form, or navigation features to stop working correctly.

You can clear Ask JOAT history with the “Clear chat” control. You can also close the browser session to remove session-based history, subject to your browser’s behavior.

We may update this notice when website technology or providers change. The dates at the top identify the current version.
