Pool styling for a bachelorette weekend in Austin

The assignment

Marissa was flying into Austin for her bachelorette weekend. Her sister, who is a dear friend of mine, hired JOAT to handle the weekend in full.

That meant the itinerary, the website, the custom signage, the décor plan, the custom party details, full setup, content creation, check-ins throughout the weekend, videography support, and the practical behind-the-scenes work that keeps a group trip from turning into a group headache.

Then Monday night happened. The rental home sent a message saying the previous guests had caused emergency water damage, furniture needed to be replaced, and the property would not be ready in time. The women were arriving Thursday morning. That is exactly the kind of thing the bride should never have to spiral over.

JOAT to the rescue

I immediately sourced replacement properties that could handle a large group, still had the right energy, still had a pool, still made sense logistically, and did not require the bride to absorb a cost change. I sent curated options, reassured her that we already had a solution, and then redesigned the setup plan around the home she chose.

No panic spiral. No frantic late-night searching. No making the bride carry the operations burden because a vendor dropped the ball.

What full service looked like

The point was not décor alone. The point was the entire chain.

I handled the welcome setup, guest-facing information, custom pieces, check-ins during the weekend, space refreshes, drink restocks, and the little hospitality touches that make people feel taken care of when they come back to the house. If the air-conditioning needed checking, I checked it. If the snack setup needed refreshing, I refreshed it. If checkout and cleanup needed to be handled properly, JOAT handled that too.

The live weekend website also pulled a lot of weight. It gave guests the itinerary, what to pack, reminders, how to get from baggage claim to rideshare pickup, transportation comparisons, theme guidance, a question form, a way to share dietary restrictions and preferences, and a photo vault so the weekend content had somewhere to go besides dying in everybody’s camera roll.

It also included a running list of restaurants, bars, bakeries, and spots worth knowing, with links out to websites, Instagram, and reservations when relevant. In Austin, even the transport notes got useful. Fetii is a smart little group-ride hack here. Free tip. You are welcome.

Why it matters

Weddings are stressful enough. Support should remove pressure, not add to it.

Everybody says wedding season is one of the most stressful windows in their life, and they are not wrong. This weekend was a very good example of what JOAT actually does well: solve the thing behind the thing.

The brides and their people got to focus on being excited, getting dressed, going out, and actually enjoying Austin. Meanwhile, the plan kept moving, the problems kept getting solved, and the invisible work stayed invisible in the best possible way.

If you want the guest-facing side of the project too, you can still open the weekend website. The countdown has passed, obviously, but the structure is still there and it tells the story nicely.

Consider it handled
